Topic: Good camera for close ups of gold

so im new to gold photography and would like to know a good budget camera that has a macro lense available (or made for it). Not looking for anything extremely nice or expensive, given most of my extra money goes towards gold! LOL

So what are you guys using? thanks in advance

Damon

Re: Good camera for close ups of gold

Re: Good camera for close ups of gold

Unless it has changed You can now use a 35mm and not have to re-size it.You will need a micro lens ,just don't forget to get a disk when You have The pic. developed. They post very easy.

Re: Good camera for close ups of gold

yea the Nikon Coolpix 950, its what I USE! I have an article I will post on photographing gold!

Re: Good camera for close ups of gold

I just bought 2 off of e-bay. I haven't received any of them yet but then again I just bought them and if you are patient you can get them for a pretty good price. Annnd their is one right now with all the bells and whistles you might be able to get it for 80 bucks or so, maybe less. But a lot of guys do last second bidding on ones like this.

Bert a Macro lense for my NikonD50 was 400+ bucks. Great camera but!!!Spendy, but check out the images I get with it. http://3toestony.shutterfly.com/

Re: Good camera for close ups of gold

LOL. IF YOU BUY ONE MAKE SURE IT COMES WITH EVERYTHING WITH IT. Mine did not have a memory card come with it so now I have to wait for one to be delivered. Circuit city did not have one. I went back and looked at the ad and sure enough, it never said it came with a card.

Re: Good camera for close ups of gold

Dave, what lens do you use with your Coolpix? Do you have multiple lenses that you use to photograph gold or just one?

Re: Good camera for close ups of gold

Damon,
I use a Kodak easy share C-160. About $80 at wall mart. Has macro and takes a pretty good picture.

I never go to Wal-mart, never ever. Did U know 3 million Wal-mart employees are on welfare? Did you know they have been sued 3 times and LOST all 3 times for CHEATING their employees out of overtime and not paying the minimum wage. And did you know they have 3 out of the 10 highest paid executives in America. This really is a bush league company. Good ole southern turds at their finest.
