Does anyone out there know of anyone who refines small amounts of gold (1 ounce or less)?  I have an ounce of clean fines and I would like to have them refined.  Ideas?

I was priviliged to purchase a beautiful gold Maple Leaf from the dear community on EBay.  I paid a fair price and the transaction was handled quickly.  Only one problem, the coin was counterfeit.  Trust mo one.  EBay is a con man's paradise.

What is the best buy per gram when buying raw gold?  Is it better in a large chunk or in fines?  Then, is some gold, say Australian, better than other gold?

I live in Utah where we have one of the largest open pit mines in the world.  It is a COPPER mine, but I have heard that the trace metals (gold, silver, magnesium, etc.) more than pay for the mines operation.  In fact, Tiffany's of New York, buys their annual gold production.
