or a lesson on how to calculate? here are the formulas to convert ounces to grams, grams to grains and visa versa
1) ounces or portions of an ounce multiplied by 31.1 will give you grams. 1 troy ounce = 31.1 grams, so .25 of an ounce would be 0.25 X 31.1 = 7.775 grams
2) ounces or portions of an ounce multiplied by 480 will give you grains. 1 troy ounce = 480 grains, so .25 of an ounce = 120 grains
3) 31.1 grams = 1 ounce and so does 480 grains, so 480 diveded by 31.1 = how many grains in a gram. 480 dived by 31.1 = 15.43408 grains means thats how many grains in a gram
4) 15.43408 grains in a gram means that you would multiply how many grams or portions of a gram to = how many grains, so .25 of a gram = 3.858 grains..........etc etc etc
5) to add dwt (pennyweight) to the mix there are 20 dwt per troy ounce, or 1.55  grams per dwt, or 24 grains per dwt etc etc

so husk to understand what your guess would be we would then multiply 0.27 grams X 15.43408 = 4.16 grains which is NOT the right answer but thats what your guess is in grains, follow?
